Coaches

Abby and John Reid

e422e7c756e4ee0ab898fb6cbfd1344d_ptu9Abby and John have led the LMG team since 2005. Both Abby and John have their B.S. in Exercise Physiology and Master’s in Public Health. They coached gymnastics in Indiana during college and after moving to SC to pursue graduate degrees they picked up coaching again. Abby teaches high school and John is a clinical data program manager full-time. Their daughter is on the LMG optional team. Abby and John ‘s successes include many state champions, regional qualifiers, national champions and TOPS national qualifiers in their tenure at LMG. Abby is the women’s team director overseeing all facets of the implementation of the team and primarily coaches the Tops and Optional Team. John focuses much of his coaching on Vault and Bars.

Michelle Strenk

She comes to us by way of the Bermuda. Michelle grew up around the sport right here in SC. Michelle works with all of our teams and her daughter is also part of our team.

Rebecca Gay

Rebecca is a graduate of USC. She was a competitive gymnast and now works with all levels of our team program.

Compulsory Team Coaching Staff:

Khadija Brown

Khadija was a local, high level, competitive gymnast that also cheered for Coastal Carolina. Currently, Khadija works as a full time Physical Therapist and coaches our level 3 team.

 AAU Team Coaching Staff:

Sam Sutton

Sam is a full time student that has worked with our teams for 4 years. We are lucky to have her energy and enthusiasm in the gym leading our excel programs!

 Stephanie Polk

Stephanie is a student at USC and has been working with our team for 5 years. She was previously a competitive gymnast and also works on choreography.

 

Men’s Coaching Staff:

Casey Bryan

Casey was a collegiate gymnast at the University of Oklahoma,  on the men’s USA world championship team in 1994 and went on to work as a performer at Disney World until he married his wife that brought him back to SC. Casey is in surgical sales.

Joel Kovacs

Joel is a student at USC, still competing in gymnastics and is in his 2nd season coaching at LMG. He is a past member of Carolina Gamecock Cheerleading Squad and a current gymnastics judge.

Brian Keith

Brian is the gym’s general manager & the main contact for the boys’ team. He assists in staffing, scheduling & logistics at all levels of competition at LMG, but mainly coaches in our recreational program. He has worked at LMG since we opened in 2005.
